SLC 68, Grace Bible College 50

The Silver Lake College women’s basketball team is riding a wave of momentum heading into winter break.

The Lakers defeated Grace Bible College 68-50 on Dec. 11 in Wyoming, Mich., for their fourth straight victory. SLC (9-3) is ranked No. 9 nationally in the latest United States Collegiate Athletic Association Division 1 poll.

Grace, which entered the game with a 9-0 record, was stifled by SLC’s defense, scoring only 29 points in the final three quarters. Grace was held to one-of-12 shooting from three-point range in the second half.

Senior center Raelyn Woock of Burnett led the Lakers with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Senior forward Courtney Clavers of Brillion added 11 points.

SLC 81, Maranatha Baptist 54

Junior guard Amanda Kudick of Kewaunee recorded a triple-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists on Dec. 8 to lead the Lakers to their 13th straight home victory.

It marked the first time in head coach Mike Flentje’s tenure at SLC that one of his players recorded a triple-double.

Also for SLC, Woock scored 15 points, sophomore guard Danielle Byrum of Sheboygan hit four of eight three-point attempts en route to 14 points, and sophomore forward Daisneekqua Thompson of Pontiac, Mich., scored 12 points.


SLC 67, Cardinal Stritch 63

Junior center Pat Zemanovic of Genesee finished with 22 points and nine rebounds to lead the Lakers to a victory on Dec. 12 in Milwaukee.

SLC led 40-22 at halftime. Senior guard Denzel Smith of Kenosha had 17 points and 10 rebounds, and sophomore guard Jordan Portee of Pontiac, S.C., finished with 15 points and four assists.

Senior guard Austin Allen-Walker of Milwaukee had six points and three steals.

SLC 91, UW-Sheboygan 71

Zemanovic scored 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting from the field in the Lakers’ home victory on Dec. 8.

Smith added 18 points, while freshman guard Nemanja Peric of Sabac, Serbia, added 13 points and sophomore forward Luka Jovicic of Pontpierre, Luxembourg, had nine points.

Lakeland 89, SLC 59

Smith and Zemanovic each finished with 12 points in the Lakers’ loss on Dec. 11 in Howards Grove.

The game was tied 15-15 midway through the first half, but Lakeland went on a 27-13 run to finish the half.

Allen-Walker had nine points, seven rebounds and four steals, while Jovicic also had nine points.
