Four Sisters with HFC ties celebrate Jubilee years

MANITOWOC, Wis. — Four Sisters — familiar faces in the halls of Holy Family College — are celebrating their Jubilees this year.

Sister Marie Kolbe Zamora, Sister Ritarose Stahl, Sister Margaret Ann Wallander and Sister Adrianna Schouten will be among more than 30 Sisters who will be honored at a Mass with Bishop David Ricken at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Green Bay.

They are members of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, the religious community that founded and continues to sponsor the college.

MANITOWOC, Wis. — When Sarah Sevenbergen of Coon Rapids, Minnesota returns to teaching music in fall, she will continue her work at the American School of Doha in Qatar, a small country along the Persian Gulf.

“My initial thought was, I’m never going to move to the Middle East,” said Sevenbergen, who is working toward certificates in Conversational Solfege and First Steps in Music during the Kodály Summer Graduate Music Program at Holy Family College in Manitowoc.

MANITOWOC, Wis. — Music educator Bronwyn Lawson of Victoria, Australia, traveled more than 9,600 miles — that translates to some 20 hours in the air — so she could visit Manitowoc.
