The Lady Lakers kept their hopes alive to be invited to the National Tournament with a impressive 69 to 33 victory over Kuyper College from Grand Rapids Michigan on senior night. The Lady Lakers went out to a 9 to 0 lead early in the in the first half and never looked back. The Lady Lakers played extremely well on defense holding the Lady Cougars to 17 points in the first half while scoring 36.
The 18 and 12 Lady Lakers were lead by Lyndsay Holschbach and Courtney Clavers with 13 points.
Abby Gerhard added 9 point while Amanda Kudick had 9 points 3 steals and 3 assists to help lead the team to victory
The Lady Lakers celebrated senior night by honoring Shanice Wilson and Lyndsay Hoslchbach. Shanice Wilson from Milwaukee WI played four years as a walk on for the Lady Lakers program. She was an outstanding athlete. She came to the program while we were in the rebuilding stag.. She added quickness to the program that was not present in the early years. We will certainly miss her.
Lyndsay Holschbach from Reedsville WI played three year with the program. She was instrumental in the success of the team for the last three season leading them to winning seasons all three years. Lyndsay scored over 800 points during her career with the Lady Lakers. She averaged 267 points in three years that she played. If she would have played one more season she certainly would have been well over a thousand points in her career. Lyndsay will be missed.
The Lady Lakers will know if they will qualify for the National Tournament this Tuesday at 2:00 pm. If they should be invited the tournament their first game will be on March 4th. I will inform you if we get the invite. Thanks for all your support throughout the year
