MANITOWOC, Wis. — Shaun Johnson of Allouez has been named director of Franciscan Spirituality and Service at Silver Lake College.
He will coordinate liturgies on campus, facilitate faith-sharing groups and retreats, and create prayer opportunities.
“Rooted in the Catholic faith and Franciscan spirituality, I believe it is important to help members of our community grow in their connection with God through meaningful encounters with Christ. Toward that end, my specific focus on campus is to walk alongside students, faculty and staff as they continue their journey of faith,” he said. “I also seek to create a place where members of all religious traditions can grow in their faith and participate in meaningful dialogue which helps us further understand the presence of God in our lives.”
Prior to joining Silver Lake College, Johnson served as campus minister at St. Norbert College in De Pere. He was named St. Norbert College Advisor of the Year in 2014 and St. Norbert Educator of the Year in 2011.
Since 2005, Johnson has served in high school and college ministry, taught theology and served in higher education.
He has published various theological articles and given numerous talks and presentations in the fields of ecumenical dialogue, the New Evangelization, mission and ministry.
Johnson earned a Master of Theological Studies degree from St. Norbert College and earned a Master of Arts in theological ethics from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, Illinois. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
