MANITOWOC, Wis. — The Silver Lake College Music Department will present the Steinbrecher-Mayer Honors Recital at 7 p.m. on Nov. 16. The instrumental and vocal recital is free and open to the public.
It will be held in the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance on the campus, 2406 S. Alverno Road.
The Steinbrecher-Mayer Honors Recital is performed in honor of Sister Francis Henry Steinbrecher and Sister Mary Aloyse Mayer, two influential figures in the early history of the undergraduate music program at Silver Lake College. Students are selected by the applied faculty members based on their performance and professionalism in applied lessons and performance classes during the semester.
Participating vocalists and musicians include: Theresa Nier, soprano; Christopher Ducasse, piano and baritone; Tyler Jensen, tenor; Katherine Sohn, oboe; Emily Cattani, piano; Young Moua, tenor; Brad Fahley, baritone; Lydia Matthews, piano; Meg Lehman, soprano; Noah Liermann, baritone; Benjamin Johnston, saxophone; Hanna Stolper, piano; and Benjamin Karnitz, euphonium.
Music will include pieces from Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Frederic Chopin, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and other classical composers.
