Silver Lake College will present a 2014 reflective Franciscan art exhibit, titled “Community,” from Sept. 12 through Oct. 11 in the art wing at Silver Lake College, 2406 S. Alverno Road.
The exhibit is free and open to the public from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays; and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays.
The exhibit features a variety of media — ranging from sculptures to paintings to a 4-foot-tall San Damiano crucifix — created by members of the Franciscan Sisterhood and other artists. The title “Community” stems from the sense of community and respect for all people that was a part of Francis’ life and thinking.

This is one of the art pieces that will be on display at Silver Lake College starting Sept. 12 as part of its “Community” exhibit.
