Gallery 117 is showcasing two new art exhibits, both of which are open to the public through Aug. 10. The gallery is located in the lower level of the main building at Silver Lake College, 2406 S. Alverno Road.
One exhibit features works from Silver Lake College’s permanent collection. They consist of lithographs by well-known artists as well as several etchings, block prints and sculptures.
Another section of Gallery 117 spotlights wood carvings and silk screens of wildlife by Randy Manlick, a graduate in Studio Art from Silver Lake College.
“What is so great about these exhibits is that they are exhibited in a beautiful space that has just been completed this June,” said Sister Mariella Erdmann, a professor in the Art Department. “The gallery is well-designed with movable walls and wonderful lighting.”
Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
