MANITOWOC, Wis. — Silver Lake College of the Holy Family will be among Wisconsin’s private colleges holding a statewide open house during Wisconsin Private College Week, July 9-14.
Prospective students and their families are invited to the campus at 2406 S. Alverno Road for tours and individual meetings each weekday from 10 a.m. to noon and again from 2 to 4 p.m. To register, visit www.sl.edu/visiting.
The statewide event is sponsored by the Wisconsin Association of Independent College and Universities (WAICU).
“The college search process can sometimes feel daunting to students their families,” said WAICU President Rolf Wegenke. “This joint open house event takes a lot of stress out of the equation by enabling families to visit and compare colleges on a fun-filled road strip during the summer.”
The best college choice will vary from student to student, and it is all about finding the right fit, said Wegenke, who emphasized that “there is no ‘best college,’ but there is a college that is best for you.”
Wisconsin’s private, nonprofit colleges and universities offer educational advantages including a 64 percent higher chance of graduating in four years, an average class size of just 16 students, and many scholarship and financial aid opportunities, according to WAICU.
