Silver Lake College to host Karl Elder for reading of excerpt from his novel

Karl Elder will read an excerpt from his new novel, “Earth As It Is In Heaven,” at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, at Zigmunt Library, located on the campus of Silver Lake College, 2406 S. Alverno Road.

earth_as_it_is_in_heaven.jpgThe novel is about a xenophobic teenager who confesses that he possesses memory of the future.

Elder, a professor of creative writing at Lakeland College, has published 10 books and about 500 poems in various magazines. He has won more than a dozen awards, including the Christopher Latham Scholes Award from the Council of Wisconsin Writers in 2012.

Copies of “Earth As It Is In Heaven” will be available for purchase at the April 6 event, and light refreshments will be provided.
