HFC alumna professes religious vows

MANITOWOC, Wis. — Sister Mary Teresa Bettag made her first profession of vows in the congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity at a liturgy celebrated on Sunday, June 24 by Father David Beaudry.

She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theology and mathematics from Holy Family College in 2015.

Since entering the religious community, Sister Bettag did her student teaching at Yuma Catholic High School in Yuma, Arizona and taught at Roncalli High School in Manitowoc. She will be teaching theology at Yuma Catholic High School in Yuma, Arizona for the 2018-19 school year.

Sister Natalie Binversie, community director of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, received Sister Bettag’s vows.

Sister Bettag’s parents, brothers, sisters, other family members, and the Franciscan Sisters witnessed the event. She is the daughter of Mark and Teresa Bettag of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Parish, Sheboygan.
