SLC announces Zimmer Forum schedule for 2015-2016

MANITOWOC — Silver Lake College, in collaboration with St. Francis of Assisi parish, announced the schedule for the 2015-2016 Fr. Bill Zimmer Forum.

The book group will meet from noon to 1 p.m. in the Endries Family Heritage Room, located on the second floor of the main building on SLC’s campus, 2406 S. Alverno Road. The forum is free and open to the public.

This year’s schedule includes:

Sept. 8: Robert Morneau, Auxiliary Bishop of Green Bay, discussing Stephen Mitchell’s book “The Enlightened Heart: An Anthology of Sacred Poetry.”

Oct. 13: Judy Turba, co-director of the Norbertine Spirituality Center in De Pere, discussing Joan Chittister’s book “The Gift of Years.”

Nov. 10: Dr. Karl Allen Kuhn, professor of religion at Lakeland College in Howards Grove, discussing his book “Luke: The Elite Evangelist.”

Dec. 8: Dr. Chris Domes, president of Silver Lake College, discussing Chris Lowney’s book “Pope Francis: Why He Leads the Way He Leads.”

Feb. 9: Mary Domes, educator and literacy coach, discussing Sue Monk Kidd’s book “When the Heart Waits.”

March 8: Steven J. Meyer, deacon at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish in Green Bay, discussing Garrison Keillor’s book “Leaving Home.”

April 22: Julieann Massey, senior director of mission and ministry at St. Norbert College, discussing Barbara Brown Taylor’s book “An Altar in the World.”
