SLC faculty colloquium set for Jan. 25

Dr. Albert Sears.jpg MANITOWOC, Wis. — Dr. Albert Sears, professor of English at Silver Lake College, will present “Lumps of Delight and Other Dickensian Treats” or “Why Rosa Bud has a Sweet Tooth” during the next faculty colloquium series.

Rosa Bud is a character in Charles Dickens' final novel, "The Mystery of Edwin Drood." She is Drood's fiancée. Dr. Sears will talk about how Dickens portrayed local and imported foods in his work. 

The colloquium will be held from 3 to 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25, in Room 325 in the Main Hall on campus, 2406 S. Alverno Road.  It is free and open to the public.
