SLC nominated for multiple Chamber awards

Thank you to all who supported Silver Lake College at the Chamber of Manitowoc County’s 101st Annual Dinner and Meeting at the Holiday Inn-Manitowoc on Feb. 6. Thank you, too, to the Chamber for hosting this annual awards event celebrating area businesses and local volunteers.

Silver Lake College is proud to have been nominated in multiple award categories.

Nominees for the Cooperation Award included Silver Lake College’s Clothes for Careers closet, its mural projects and its SLC Works program.  Silver Lake College also received nominations for the Non-Profit Organization of the Year award and the Large Business/Industry of the Year award.

Future 15 winners Matthew Goff and Lucy-Ann Muabe were among those vying for the Young Professional of the Year award. Goff is dean of the Work College (SLC Works) program and Muabe, career resources and student development specialist, oversees the Clothes for Careers closet.Chamber Awards 3

Faculty members Chris Rettler and Erin LaBonte were nominated for the Education Impact award. Rettler is assistant professor of education and LaBonte is associate professor of art and art department co-chair. 

Dr. Robert B. Callahan, Silver Lake College’s recently named 11th president, gave the invocation and presented the Cooperation Award.

Silver Lake College is proud of its people, its programs and the opportunity to serve Manitowoc County for more than 80 years.
