MANITOWOC, Wis. — If you are interested in learning more about nursing education, attend Silver Lake College’s next Faculty Colloquium from 10 to 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 27 in Room 332 on campus, 2406 S. Alverno Road.

Dr. Cheryl Passel, associate professor of nursing, will present “Service Learning’s Impact on the Development of Undergraduate Nursing Students’ Soft Skills.”

“Nurse educators are challenged with the responsibility of teaching the science of nursing within high-tech clinical environments while providing patient care,” Dr. Passel said. “The study I will be speaking about explores evidence of development of undergraduate nursing students’ self-awareness and empathy while enrolled in a nursing course with a service-learning component.”

The colloquium is free and open to the public.
