MANITOWOC, Wis. — The Silver Lake College Music Department will present a Faculty Voice Recital at 7 p.m. on Nov. 14 in the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance on campus, 2406 S. Alverno Road.

It is free and open to the public.

The recital will feature music faculty members Emily Davis, a soprano, and Jonathan Kim, a baritone. Piano accompaniment will be provided by Dr. Diana Shapiro, SLC music faculty, and Janna Ernst, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee music faculty.

Kim will sing classic baritone standards by Samuel Barber, Felix Mendelssohn and Charles Gounod.

“This recital is a diverse program with everything from lovely art songs to dramatic arias,” Davis said. “I’m looking forward to performing new repertoire, such as ‘Der Hölle Rache,’ that I’ve always wanted to learn, and now have the chance to sing. Jonathan and I have a charming duet from ‘Don Giovanni,’ and I’m looking forward to collaborating with him.”

Davis is vocal instructor and Kim is assistant professor and director of choral activities.

Dr. Shapiro serves as undergraduate music department chair and assistant professor of piano at Silver Lake College.
