SLC presents piano recital on March 31

Beverly Mark resized 2.jpgMANITOWOC, Wis. — The studio of Dr. Diana Shapiro will present a piano pedagogy lecture and recital featuring Beverly Barnes Mark on piano starting at 7 p.m. on March 31 in the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance on campus, 2406 S. Alverno Road.

The recital is free and open to the public.

Barnes Mark will perform pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Franz Joseph Haydn, Clara Schumann, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Bela Bartok and Robert Muczynski.

Barnes Mark of Two Rivers is an independent music teacher, active accompanist and organist. She has been teaching students young and old for more than 20 years, helping them develop their own relationship with music through the study of the piano’s many voices and its wide repertoire. 

She is an active member of the Music Teachers National Association, Wisconsin Music Teachers Association and Michibago Music Teachers Association and received WMTA’s Member of the Year Award in 2009.

Barnes Mark enjoys accompanying choirs in her community and working with soloists on collaborative projects.
