SLC’s Dr. Emilie Lindemann to present poetry

MANITOWOC, Wis. — Dr. Emilie Lindemann, associate professor of English at Silver Lake College, will read her poetry during an art reception from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1 at Gallery 211 in Madison. 

Emilie's book 2The reception is for the “Transmutations” exhibit of recent paintings, drawings and sculptures by artist Karen Laudon. One of Laudon’s paintings appears on the cover of Dr. Lindemann’s book of poetry, “mother-mailbox.”   

“Some of the poems in my book respond to Karen’s artwork and some of her artwork is in dialogue with my poetry,” said Dr. Lindemann. The book “mother-mailbox” was published by Misty Publications of Chicago and won the 2016 Arsenic Lobster Poetry Prize.
