Spring Choral Concert set for April 27

MANITOWOC, Wis. — Silver Lake College of the Holy Family will present its Spring Choral Concert and Opera Workshop at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 27 in the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance on campus, 2406 S. Alverno Road.The concert, under the direction of assistant choral professor Jonathan Kim, will highlight the talents of the Silver Lake Chorale and Silver Lake Concert Choir. Lydia Mathews and Hanna Stolper will accompany on piano. Featured songs will include the great American folk song, “Shenandoah,” as well as the inspirational “Hear My Prayer” and “My Soul’s Been Anchored in the Lord.”

The Opera Workshop is directed by vocal instructor Emily Davis. Dr. Diana Shapiro, assistant professor of piano, will accompany on piano. “Expect the Unexpected” is the theme of the Opera Workshop, which will feature scenes from five different operas, all centered on unexpected events.  The production is a collaborative effort with students in Dr. Dionne Landgraf’s 3-D Design class, who created the sets and props.

Choral singers include Meg Lehman, Lydia Matthews, Theresa Nier, Tasha Rabe, Dawn Welling, Emma Knickelbine, Ashley Reif, Hanna Stolper, Allyson Wasmer, Ben Karnitz, Jonathan McConnell, Young Moua, Christopher Ducasse, Niyimbona Fadhili, Noah Liermann, Cecelia DeBruin, Lydia Fogeltanz, Carolyn Kleckner, Joy Krejcarek, Mailo Moua, Brianna Scott, Sister Winifred Crevier, Corinne Galligan, Mary Jo Koeppen, Peg Kulas, Sister Mary Lou Loonsfoot, Sister Mary Frances Maher, Deb Schmidt, Tyler Jensen, Brad Fahley, Robert Kleckner, Bee Moua and Bob Turnbull.

Vocal performers in the Opera Workshop include Theresa Nier, Emma Knickelbine, Noah Liermann, Brad Fahley, Michael Stearns, Christopher Ducasse, Benjamin Karnitz, Shannon DeGrave, Meg Lehman, Young Moua and Ashley Reif.

Hanna Stolper is stage manager and Christopher Ducasse is lighting designer.

Members of 3-D Design are Bruno Asca Rosas, Ayana Boyd, Guerson Choute, Dreshawn Dorsey, Makaya Evans, Olivia Hanf, AJ Jaeger, Daviantae McFarling, Briana Nash, Daysi Perez-Ramirez, Anna Reiter, Dayonna Stokes, Brianna Thetphasone, Arianna Williams and Christopher Zaragoza.
