Steinbrecher-Mayer Honors Recital set for Nov. 17

MANITOWOC, Wis. — The Silver Lake College music department will present the Steinbrecher-Mayer Honors Recital at 7 p.m. on Nov. 17.

The recital, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Bob & Pat Endries Hall, located in the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance, on the campus of Silver Lake College at 2406 S. Alverno Road. 

The Steinbrecher-Mayer Honors Recital is performed in honor of Sister Francis Henry Steinbrecher and Sister Mary Aloyse Mayer, two influential figures in the early history of the undergraduate music program at Silver Lake College.

Students are selected by the applied faculty based on their performance and professionalism in applied lessons and performance classes.

Participating musicians include:

Piano: Emily Cattani, Dr. Dionne Landgraf, Beverly Mark, Lydia Matthews, Theresa Nier and Katherine Sohn

Voice: Jeffrey Erdman, Brad Fahley, Molly Hahn, Emily Tyeptanar, Kevin Sievert, Katherine Sohn and Dawn Welling

Trumpet: Will Elliott

Oboe: Katherine Sohn

Saxophone: Ben Johnston

Accompanists are Dr. Diana Shapiro and Dr. Stanislava Varshavski of the music faculty.
