MANITOWOC, Wis. — Could you survive a month in poverty? What choices would you make if you had limited time and money?

You can find answers to those questions when you walk in someone else’s shoes at Silver Lake College’s poverty simulation. The event runs from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 17 in the Franciscan Center for Music Education and Performance on campus, 2406 S. Alverno Road.

The public is invited at no charge. The deadline to register is Aug. 11.

Developed by the Missouri Association for Community Action, the exercise is designed to help those who have never experienced poverty have a better understanding of the challenges faced by those who live it.

To register, contact Julie Kautzer at 920-686-6190 or academic.affairs@sl.edu.
